This workshop takes the future as a starting point by which to critically consider how we use ‘integration’ as a concept within policy processes at various levels. Policy practitioners, civil society advocates, and academics will work through the practical challenges when considering ‘integration’. Possible issues likely to be discussed include:

• Can we envision a sustainable future for ‘integration’ as a policy concept?
• How does ‘integration’ affect our understanding of society?
• Can ‘integration’ be used to help deal with broader issues of societal fragmentation that fall outside of traditional notions of ‘citizens’ and ‘immigrants’?

Participants include Katarina Carlzén (Partnership Skåne), Henrik Nilsson (Natverket), and from Malmö University: Nadeen Khoury, Sayaka Osanami Törngren, Erica Righard, Elisabeth Mangrio, and Michael Strange.

This workshop is held in collaboration with National Integration Evaluation Mechanism (NIEM), funded by EU AMIF. This collaboration is part of the efforts in building national coalition across different stakeholders.
